Notes from 15-minute public forum on 08 April 2025

There were no members of the public present. The Parish Council Meeting began.

 

 

Minutes of the meeting of Wrangle Parish Council held on Tuesday 8th April 2025 at 7:00pm in The Parish Hall.

 

  1. To receive and accept apologies and approve reasons for absence

 

Apologies: Apologies were accepted from Cllr Seymour.   

Present: Cllrs Ashton (Chairman), Dickason, Bowles, Edwards, Law and Wrisdale.

Also present: 7 members of The Parochial Church Council.

 

No correspondence had been received from Cllr Hill.  

 

  1. Chair’s announcements and any relevant updates

 

The Chairman had nothing to report.

 

  1. To receive declarations of interest under the Localism Act 2011 and consider any requests for dispensations

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

  1. To resolve that, under the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960, the public and press be excluded from the meeting except for the representatives from Wrangle Parochial Church Council for the following item due to the confidential nature of the business to be transacted.

 

It was moved, seconded and agreed by the Parish Council that the public and press be excluded from the meeting except for the representatives from Wrangle Parochial Church Council.

 

  1. To discuss and resolve matters relating to The Wrangle Parish Magazine.

 

A lengthy discussion was held, a lot of questions raised, and ideas discussed:

  1. It was discussed the current editor had resigned.
  2. Questions regarding ownership were raised, whether it be the PC or the PCC.
  3. Editorial and admin costs were discussed and shared along with information regarding the budget.
  4. It was agreed to put out a call for help, to see if an editor on a voluntary basis could be found
  5. A suggestion was made to put together a working group with representatives from both Councils.

 

There being no other business, the meeting closed at 07:43pm.
