Notes from 15 minute public forum on 11 April 2023

 

There were no members of the public present. 

 

 

Minutes of the meeting of Wrangle Parish Council held on Tuesday 11 April 2023 at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall

 

1. Apologies for absence

 

Apologies:  There were no apologies received 

 

Present:  Cllrs Wrisdale, Seymour, Edwards, Law, Featherstone, Pickett, Bowles, Ashton and Danby (Chairman)

 

Also present:  County Cllr Skinner

 

2. To receive reports from representatives on outside bodies

 

Borough Cllrs Pickett and Ashton had nothing to report due to being in the pre-election period

 

County Cllr Skinner reported:

a. A lot of repairs have been carried out.

b. The 30mph speed limit for Broadgate could take up to 18 months to be put in place.

c. The request for a crossing on the A52 will be chased up.

 

3.    To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the LOCALISM ACT 2011 

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

4.      Notes of the meeting held on 07 March 2023 to be signed as the minutes

 

The notes, previously circulated, were approved and signed as the minutes.

 

5. Clerk’s report

 

a. A letter has been received from the Wrangle Show Committee ‘gifting’ the new village sign to the village and in the care of the Parish Council, there were no objections to this.

b. The sign, the base and the Jubilee bench will be added to the insurance policy and the Assets Register

 

6.    To receive report from the Chairman  

 

a. The fertilizer and wood chipping have been spread around the fruit trees in the orchard.

b. The trees are in blossom so should bear some fruit this year.

 

7.      Finance report

*The Parish Council will have to keep an eye on the allotment charges due to changes that will be made that may affect the tenants.

8.     Recreation field – any matters to report

 

a. The moles have re-appeared.

b. The dyke has been cleared, thanks were expressed to the Councillor who did this work.

c. The pot holes at the entrance to the car park need to be filled in.

 

9.     To report any highway matters

 

a. The Borough Council were asked about the electricity supply for the street lights.  It is in a contract until 01 October 2024 and has signed up to another contract from then until 01 October 2028.  The Parish Council pay for the electricity, but have no say in the seeking of contracts.

b. The answers to other questions were not adequate and a response is awaited from the Climate Change and Environment Officer.

c. The pot holes in Sea Lane, towards the Sailors Home, are in need of repair, the grass verge is being used to get around them.

d. The speed sign seems to be needing got be charged too often, this will be monitored.  The data could not be retrieved for February, if the same goes for March then the supplier will be contacted for advice as to what is going wrong.

There were no planning applications for this meeting

 

11.    Planning decisions received from Boston Borough Council

 

There were no planning decisions for this meeting.

 

12. Correspondence received not covered on the agenda

 

There was no correspondence for this meeting.

 

13.    Any other business – matters for next agenda

 

a. Would the Parish Council consider repairing the fencing around one side of a field at Main Road?

b. Cllr Ashton expressed thanks to Cllr Danby, who will retire at the election in May, for the work he has done for and on behalf for the Parish and the Parish Council during his lengthy time serving Wrangle. His knowledge, help and advice for all Councillors who have served along side him has been invaluable.  All agreed and expressed their thanks too.

The next Parish Council meeting will be held in the Parish Hall on 16 May 2023:

a. Annual Parish Meeting at 7.00pm

b. Annual Parish Council meeting at 7.15pm

c. Parish Council meeting at 7.30pm
